Mendengarkan Musik Pakai Earphone Bisa Bikin Tuli

Liputan6.com, Leicester: Waspadalah bagi Anda yang sering mendengarkan musik dengan headphone atau earphone. Berdasarkan penelitian di Inggris, hal itu akan menyebabkan telinga Anda tidak bisa berfungsi lagi dengan normal hingga menyebabkan tuli.

Menurut peneliti dari Universitas Leicester, Inggris, earphone atau headphone pada pemutar musik pribadi dapat mencapai tingkat kebisingan yang sama dengan mesin jet. Akibatnya dapat merusak lapisan sel-sel saraf yang menyebabkan tuli.

"Penelitian ini memungkinkan kita untuk memahami jalur dari paparan suara keras untuk gangguan pendengaran," kata Dr Martine Hamann dari Departemen Fisiologi dan Farmakologi universitas tersebut. Ia menambahkan, suara keras dari 110 desibel diketahui menyebabkan masalah pendengaran seperti tuli sementara dan tinnitus (telinga berdenging).

Sel saraf yang membawa sinyal listrik dari telinga ke otak memiliki lapisan yang disebut selubung myelin, yang membantu perjalanan sinyal listrik di sepanjang sel. Paparan suara keras, misalnya kebisingan lebih dari 110 desibel, dapat mengupas lapisan sel-sel ini. Akibatnya, mengganggu sinyal listrik. Ini berarti saraf tidak bisa lagi secara efisien mengirimkan informasi dari telinga ke otak.

Namun, lapisan yang mengelilingi sel-sel saraf dapat diperbaiki dengan membiarkan sel-sel berfungsi lagi seperti biasa. Ini berarti kehilangan pendengaran dapat bersifat sementara.

"Kami menunjukkan bahwa selubung di sekitar saraf pendengaran hilang. Efeknya adalah reversibel dan setelah tiga bulan, pendengaran telah pulih," tambah Martine

Temuan ini merupakan bagian dari penelitian terhadap efek dari suara keras pada bagian otak yang disebut nukleus koklea dorsal. Penelitian juga menunjukkan bahwa kerusakan sel-sel di daerah ini dapat menyebabkan tinnitus, sensasi 'suara siluman' seperti berdengung atau dering. (ZeeNews/MEL).

Hasil menunjukkan, orang yang makan di area yang diberi efek cahaya dan musik jazz punya pengalaman makan yang lebih menyenangkan. Mereka memang menikmati suasana dan makanan di tempat tersebut. Walaupun berlama-lama di area tersebut, tidak menjadikan mereka makan dengan berlebihan. Karena saat santai, mereka punya kontrol untuk mengukur berapa banyak harus makan dibanding yang berada di area lain.

Suasana santai yang diciptakan ternyata berpengaruh terhadap porsi makan seseorang. Jika suasana lingkungan bersifat santai, kita cenderung lebih bisa mengontrol asupan makanan kita. (ina)
